A rejuvenated site, fresh running water, puha growing evoke a time when gathering Kai was the norm. Using material gathered from the waste stream, a range of containers, or kono, reflect on the potential to collect Kai or treasure in this gem of a space.
A long time waste geek, Lucy has based her practise on defying obsolescence making use of materials rendered redundant by changes in technology. Collecting movie reels destined for landfill, she looks to transform and make use of the material in traditional ways.
