The combined healing properties of kawakawa and cooling temperature under the old canopy of the Withiel Thomas reserve form a diamond gem pattern as they are woven together. These pockets of natural lava forest are a rare find as Tamaki Makaurau intensifies and expands.
As a multi media artist, weaver, and maker, Cathy takes inspiration from traditional mahi toi and combines her skills with modern methods and mediums. Cathy is currently studying Maori and Indigenous Arts at Te Wananga o Aotearoa.
